Dr Iara Lacher is a landscape ecologist at the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute (SCBI), interested in issues of sustainable land use planning and biodiversity conservation. This talk highlights what Iara has learned about people, communications, and her role in conservation, while developing a scientific initiative that spans the science-policy gap.
